UPS 106 HTP HIGH TEMPERATURE PASTE

1. Surface Preparation

Ensure surfaces are free of paint, rust, grime, and other contaminants.

Roughen the pipework using grit blasting or grinding with a coarse wheel or abrasive disk pad to enhance adhesion.

2. Mixing

Combine the Base and Activator in a 3:1 ratio by weight or volume.

Mix thoroughly until a uniform consistency and colour are achieved, indicating proper activation.

3. Application

Use a putty knife to spread the mixed epoxy paste over the damaged area, pressing firmly to ensure maximum surface contact and to avoid trapping air.

For significant damage, apply additional layers as needed, allowing each to set slightly before adding the next.

4. Reinforcement

Immediately overwrap the repaired area with a UPS ASME Emergency Pipe Repair Bandage or similar composite wrap.

Activate the bandage by wetting it, then wrap it tightly over the epoxy-coated area, smoothing out any wrinkles.

This provides a rock-hard, impact-resistant protective layer, further reinforcing the repair.

5. Curing

Allow the epoxy to cure for 24 hours under standard conditions to achieve full strength.

For maximum temperature resistance up to 250°C, perform post-curing as per the Technical Data Sheet instructions.
